Rutabaga & Bacon

My mom came up with this recipe and it is so good! This is one of my favorite foods to eat. It is paleo, dairy free and gluten free. Here is how to make it.

 

RUTABAGA AND BACON

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients:

2 Medium Rutabagas

1 lb of Bacon

Oil or Bacon Grease

Instructions:

Cut the bacon into small pieces until desired crispiness. While bacon is cooking, carefully cut and peel the rutabaga into small sections that are small enough to fit into your food processor to be shredded. A tip my sister taught me: place a wet washcloth under the cutting board to prevent it from moving. When the rutabagas are peeled and cut, get your food processor ready (if you don't have a food processor just shred it using a cheese grater). When it is all shredded, place in the skillet with the grease and bacon. You will need more oil or bacon grease (we save our bacon grease to use in recipes just like this one). Cook until hot and slightly tender, but don't overcook it. Enjoy!
