Movement of the Spirit
A beating heart but an aching heart was in her chest. Life was heavy and hard and she was worn thin. She cried out to God, "Change it, please. Please. Take it away. I don't understand." She knew that He heard her but thought He just wasn't doing anything about it. So she went on with her day. She swung her feet over the side of her mattress and rubbed them into the fuzzy carpet. As she was getting ready for the day, she heard her phone beep. The verse of the day just came in. Romans 8:31.
A piece of her heart healed and was cradled at that moment because she knew. He did see her.
And then again at lunch. She was looking through her feed and read a post about God's faithfulness and faith was sparked in her.
Each time this happened that day, and it was a lot, she was reminded of something.
Whenever those reminders came in, it was like God gently took her chin in His hand and turned her eyes toward Him. It was like He said, "I see you. I know you. I love you. I know you don't understand what I'm doing but I promise you can trust me that it is good and worth it. Don't worry, I've got you. I have and always will give you everything you need."
In these moments of winks of courage from God, through His Spirit, He called her one step further. "You can do it, just hold onto me," is what He said. He showed her how much more He had for her when she was done. He never abandoned her and always heard her. He, through His beautiful Spirit, enabled her with everything she needed to walk with Him.
And just like He promised, it was good and it was worth it.
